Hacksaw Gaming
The studio behind Chaos Crew 2
How the developer balances risk shows in the Chaos Crew 2 RTP breakdown.
Company History
Hacksaw Gaming came out of Sliema, Malta in 2018, founded by ex-NetEnt and Leander Games developers with Swedish roots. The early catalogue was scratch cards; the studio only turned to slots in 2020, and that is when the brand people recognise today took shape.
Chaos Crew 2 sits near the centre of that story. The first Chaos Crew turned a scrappy graffiti theme into a cult name with the bonus-hunting crowd, and the 2023 sequel is the game that hardened the formula — Cranky Cat multipliers, Epic Drop, and the Best of Bonus pick that lets you keep the strongest of three rounds.
Every Hacksaw title ships with its own signature feature rather than a reskinned bonus, and the studio holds MGA and UKGC licences with RNG testing by independent labs. Chaos Crew 2's compounding-cat maths is specific to the Chaos Crew line and appears nowhere else in the catalogue.
What They Do Best
Compounding Multipliers
Two Cranky Cats on the same payline multiply against each other. Chaos Crew 2 built its 20,000x ceiling on that stacking maths.
Variance Management
Best of Bonus lets a player run three bonus rounds and bank only the best result — a rare, genuinely player-side twist on high-volatility design.
Signature Mechanic Per Title
No engine recycling. The Cranky Cat and Epic Drop pairing is exclusive to the Chaos Crew games.
Mobile-First Development
The 5×5 grid and loud graffiti UI were laid out for a portrait phone screen first, with desktop adapted afterwards.

Fairness & Licensing
BMM Testlabs audits the RNG that drives Chaos Crew 2. Demo and real-money modes run the identical math model, so the 96.27% return and the Cranky Cat multiplier distribution are the same whether or not real money is on the line.
Why Chaos Crew 2?
Chaos Crew 2 is the release that fixed the Chaos Crew formula in place. The Cranky Cat multiplier stacking is specific to this series, and the Best of Bonus pick hands you a real say over variance — run three rounds, keep the best. At 5/5 volatility with a 20,000x cap, it earns its spot in Hacksaw's high-risk shelf without leaning on a borrowed bonus round.
